To launch the new website & blog, it’s only fitting to start with thank you. 

So, thank you for coming by and checking out my work.

I’ve been fortunate to be encouraged in my art over the years by so many wonderful people, from family and friends to instructors and students.  Thank you for your words of encouragement and constructive criticism; for teaching me to colour inside and outside the lines.  For nurturing my natural love of the outdoors which is inseparable from the art.  If you’ve found your way here, you know who you are, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. 

I’ve also learned a lot from studying the work of other creative people. Some of you are resigned to history, but I’ve carried around your images in books, finding companionship in their pages. 

Contemporary artists – you have changed this sphere by sharing (sometimes freely) of your outstanding talents online.  To study another’s process in real time is something those of us who remember a pre-internet world don’t take granted! 

I hope to share more of my thanks in future posts by talking about some of the people who inspire me, and some of the useful bits I’ve picked up along the way.  Less a how-to, more a traveler’s journal.  I’ll also post updates to the gallery and any studio news.
