YouTube and the Art-Making Process

At the end of 2023 I experimented with making my first video, and quickly found this to be a medium I enjoy working in. Propping the camera above the page and filming in time-lapse has enabled me to capture my sketching process.

I’ve benefitted so much from other artists who generously share their work in videos and podcasts that document the facets of a creative life. As an emerging artist, I’m trying to keep that in mind because once we decide to step out into the world with our art, we next have to decide exactly how to share it.

It’s difficult not to feel self-conscious or to overthink things as I add my voice to the conversation, but I hope the fun I’m having in making these short films will translate to the viewer. This enjoyment is what makes it seem like a good next step in sharing my art. Here then, if you missed the Intro on my homepage, are a couple of my first videos. Hope you enjoy.
